Valarie King-Bailey has over 30+ years of extensive executive management, consulting, project management, and marketing experience within the engineering and technology industry. Prior to the founding of OnShore Technology Group in 2004, Valarie served as Chief Marketing Officer for QUMAS, Ltd, one of Ireland’s leading software companies. As CMO, Ms. King-Bailey spearheaded global marketing and new product development initiatives that led to QUMAS’ winning the 2002 the Frost & Sullivan Market Engineering Leadership Award for 24% market share in the regulatory compliance software vertical niche. During her tenure, sales rose from $2MM to a record $10MM.
Prior to her tenure with QUMAS, Ms. King-Bailey served as Director of Document Management and Quality Systems for Abbott Laboratories. She led a $16MM compliance and IV&V program representing the single largest I.T. project within the Division. As a result of her performance, Ms. King-Bailey received the prestigious Abbott Chairman’s Award from the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Abbott for two consecutive years. She also received the coveted Abbott Hospital Products Division Value Leadership Award for her outstanding project leadership efforts.
Ms. King-Bailey served as Director of Industry Development for Documentum where she led the market requirements development of DocControl Manager™, Documentum’s first off-the-shelf product.
As a civil engineer, Ms. King-Bailey worked for 13 years at Intergraph Corporation. She served as Midwest Regional Manager for Architecture* Engineering* Construction (AEC) applications.
Throughout her career, Ms. King-Bailey has received countless honors from world class, market-leading companies. She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Information Systems from Chicago’s Keller Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. In 2008, she received the Distinguished Career Achievement Award from the faculty of the University Of Wisconsin College Of Engineering and in 2010 she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the University of Wisconsin College of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Ms. King-Bailey is a member of the American Marketing Association, the American Society of Civil Engineers, Who’s Who in Information Technology, Regulatory Affairs Professional Society (RAPS), and a board member of the University of Wisconsin Alumni Association, U.W. College of Civil & Environmental Engineering Alumni Visiting Committee, U.W.-Madison Diversity and Inclusively Council, and associate of the Science, Engineering, Technology, and Mathematics (S.T.E.M.) national society to helping to promote minority enrollment in advanced math and technology curriculum. For her efforts in this area, Valarie received the National Women of Color S.T.E.M. Technology All-Star Award in 2008.
Ms. King-Bailey also serves as a board member of the University of Wisconsin – Madison Alumni Association and a strategic advisor and guest lecturer at DePaul University, Loyola University, DeVry University, and Robert Morris College. She is a member of Who’s Who in Information Technology and Who’s Who Among Women in America.
